Queue

The queue is the line of content waiting to be posted. Each Tentacle has its own — whatever sits at the top posts next.

How the queue works

When a tentacle is running, its trigger schedule fires on time — every few hours, or on the weekdays and time you chose. Each time it fires, the top item leaves the queue and posts to all of that tentacle's channels (each with its own delay). A countdown on the page shows exactly when the next post goes out. If the queue runs empty, nothing posts until you add more.

   Pick a tentacle

   Tabs across the top switch between your tentacles' queues. You can drag the tabs to reorder them.

   Add content

   Click Add from Library, tick the files you want (or Select all), and they join the line. You can also send finished posts here from Compose using Queue mode.

   Arrange the order

   Drag items up or down. Top of the list posts first — put your best or most timely content there.

   Polish the captions

   Click any item to edit its caption and hashtags, including per-platform versions. If the tentacle has Auto AI captions on, items get captions written for them automatically — you just review.

Duplicate detection

Queued the same file in two tentacles? Octopost notices and warns you, so the same video doesn't accidentally post twice from different chains.
