GuideComposing Posts

Composing Posts

The Compose page is where you create content. Upload media, write or generate captions, and choose how and where to publish.

How to compose a post

Uploading media

Drag and drop a video (MP4, MOV) or image (JPG, PNG) onto the upload area, or click to browse. You can also choose an existing file from your Content Library. Files are automatically uploaded to cloud storage.

LinkedIn and X support text-only posts — you can skip the media upload for those platforms. YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok always require media.

Caption and hashtags

Write your caption manually, or use the "Generate Caption & Hashtags" button to let AI create one. After generating, you can tweak the tone with quick-action chips like "Shorter," "Funnier," or "Professional."

Hashtags have their own field — they're appended to your caption automatically when posting.

AI context

Expand the "AI Context" panel below the generate button to give the AI more to work with. The more context you provide, the better the generated captions will be.

Title

A descriptive title like 'Morning workout routine' gives much better results than a filename.

What's this about?

The single most impactful field. Even a one-line description like 'cooking tutorial, carbonara in 5 minutes' dramatically improves output.

Content type

Choose a category like Tutorial, Entertainment, or Product to guide the AI's tone and structure.

Choosing platforms

In the right panel, select which connected accounts to post to. Each platform has its own settings panel (privacy, thumbnails, reply settings, etc.) that expands when selected.

Post, schedule, or queue

At the bottom of the right panel, choose when to post:

Now

Publishes immediately to all selected platforms.

Schedule

Pick a specific date and time. The post will go out automatically.

Queue

Add the post to a Tentacle's queue. It will be published in order based on your posting schedule.

Drafts

Not ready to post? Save your work as a draft using the "Save Draft" button in the top bar. Load drafts later to pick up where you left off — your caption, media selection, platform choices, and settings are all preserved.
