What Octopost does

Upload a video or image once, and Octopost handles the rest: it can write captions and hashtags for you with AI, publish to several platforms at the same time, schedule posts for a specific date, or keep a queue of content that posts itself on a schedule you set. You spend your time making content — Octopost handles the posting.

Set up in four steps

  1. 1

    Create your account

Sign up with your email address or your Google account. Once you're in, you'll land on the dashboard — everything in this guide lives in the sidebar on the left.
  2. 2

    Connect a social account

Open Accounts in the sidebar and link the platform you post to most. You sign in on the platform's own login page, so Octopost never sees your password. Full walkthrough in Connecting Accounts.
  3. 3

    Create your first Tentacle

A Tentacle is a posting chain for one brand: it groups your channels and holds your brand prompt — a short description of who you are and how you sound. The AI uses it for every caption it writes, so it's worth two minutes of thought. See Tentacles.
  4. 4

    Make your first post

Go to Compose, drop in a video or image, click Generate Caption & Hashtags, pick your accounts, and hit Post Now. That's it — you've posted with Octopost.
Start small. Connect one platform, post once, and see how it feels. You can add more accounts, queues, and schedules any time — nothing has to be set up perfectly on day one.

Explore the rest

Write your brand prompt early. It's the single biggest thing you can do to make AI captions sound like you instead of a generic robot — everything else builds on it.
