Supported platforms

Octopost supports five platforms: YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter). Each uses OAuth — you'll be redirected to the platform to authorize Octopost, and your credentials are never stored directly.

🎬

YouTube

Requires a YouTube channel. Uploads as Shorts or regular videos.

📸

Instagram

Requires a Business or Creator account connected to a Facebook Page.

🎵

TikTok

Connects via TikTok for Developers. Privacy settings may be limited during review.

💼

LinkedIn

Posts to your personal LinkedIn profile. Supports text-only posts.

𝕏

X

Posts tweets with or without media. Supports text-only posts.

How to connect

  1. 1

    Go to Connected Accounts

Navigate to Connected Accounts from the sidebar.
  2. 2

    Click 'Connect' on a platform

You'll be redirected to the platform's authorization page.
  3. 3

    Authorize Octopost

Grant permission for Octopost to post on your behalf. You'll be redirected back automatically.
You can connect multiple accounts for the same platform — for example, two different YouTube channels or a personal and business Instagram.

Channel prompts

Each connected account can have its own channel prompt — a custom instruction that tells the AI how to write captions for that specific account. For example, your business Instagram might want a professional tone while your personal TikTok uses casual language.

Set channel prompts on the Connected Accounts page by expanding the prompt section under each account.

If a platform's OAuth token expires or is revoked, you'll need to reconnect. Octopost will show a warning next to accounts that need re-authorization.

Once your accounts are connected, you're ready to compose your first post.
